When he was a puppy Dougal was sold to a family in Jersey who had really investigated the breed and were aware of what was involved in bringing up such an intelligent, challenging dog. Despite their best efforts Dougal proved to be a bit of a liability at the vet's and in public places and he completely shattered their confidence. He was signed over to Rescue in November 2012 following a lengthy period of rehabilitation and training with his breeder. He was extremely lucky to meet Amy and Matthew who, with a lot of support from Amy's Mum, offered him a permanent home shortly afterwards.
Dougal is now doing well and is much more sociable and relaxed. He still has his 'moments' when out and about but they are getting much fewer and further between. He lives with Amy and Matthew but spends a lot of time at Amy's Mum's house playing and interacting with her two dogs.
