Ralph is six months old and has been neutered. He has had very little socialisation but is coping remarkably well with new experiences. He needs clipping and currently looks like a Cockerpoo, but this will change soon.
Ralph cannot be homed with young children as he has nipped the children in his previous home. He doesn't dislike them but had learned to control them! He's a friendly little chap who needs a home where he will be given clear 'leadership' and training. He's very clever.
If you read about the characteristics and temperament of a spanish water dog Ralph is exactly that. He has settled into his life with our family remarkably well, even better than we expected. He is affectionate, loving, eager to please, playful, fun, naughty and just a pleasure to have in our lives. He has issues which we are slowly and patiently working on, but progress in these areas are really positive. He needs his boundaries as his exuberance and confidence can give him ideas above his station! But saying this he is still a puppy and our job is to teach him acceptable behaviour. We all play a part in Ralph's training and he is comfortable and responsive to us all. Although Ralph is wary of strangers a characteristic of his breed, he is learning to accept attention from people and slowly realising they will not hurt him. Ralph has fitted in with our lifestyle and has enriched our lives and it is our hope that we can help Ralph to be the best possible dog that he can be.
